A MAJOR CAUSE OF VENT RELATED FIRES IS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED AIR CLEARANCES (AIR SPACES) TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS. IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THIS DOUBLE WALL PelletVent BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS. These instructions supplement the PelletVent General Installation Instructions. All instructions, warnings, cleaning and maintenance guides contained in that document are applicable to this instruction. Read through all of these instructions, as well as the Basic PelletVent Instruction Pamphlet before beginning your installation. Failure to install as described in these instructions will void the manufacturer's warranty and may have an effect on your homeowner's insurance and UL listing status. Keep these instructions for future reference. INSTALLATION NOTES Proper planning for your PelletVent installation will result in greater safety, efficiency, and convenience. Use only authorized Simpson Dura-Vent PelletVent (SPV) parts. The catalog numbers shown in the instruction drawings are for UL reference purposes only, and should not be used to order. Refer to the product catalogs for the correct stock numbers. PelletVent TESTING PelletVent is tested and listed to UL 641 Standard for Safety, Low Temperature Venting Systems, Type L, produced under the factory inspection and follow-up program of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. PelletVent is rated for flue temperatures up to, but not exceeding 570° F. INSTALLATION THROUGH A CATHEDRAL CEILING 1. Mark a line on the side of the support box to correspond to the line of the roof pitch, as shown in Figure 1. 2. Position the stove at its proper location on the floor. Pay close attention to the manufacturer's installation instructions, as to clearances, etc. The stove must also be positioned so that the support box will not interfere with roof rafters or other structural framing. |
